The Tequila Mule: Justin Timberlake's Go-To Drink
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel's viral Tonight Show moment, plus how to make his go-to cocktail at home.
If you need a simple, refreshing drink for the weekend, the Tequila Mule is a great choice. It's a straightforward twist on the classic Moscow Mule — swapping vodka for tequila and leaning on ginger ale for a smoother, sweeter finish.
The drink went viral after an appearance by Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The Tonight Show Debate
During a "Best Friends Challenge" segment, Jimmy Fallon and Jessica Biel competed to see who knew Justin best. Since Justin was on strict vocal rest, he couldn't speak and had to communicate with cue cards.
When asked to name Justin's favorite drink, Jimmy confidently guessed Gin and Tonic. Jessica correctly wrote "Tequila Mule." Jimmy was hilariously offended, shouting "What's a tequila mule?! We drink gin and tonics!" — while Justin silently mouthed to the camera that he loved his wife for getting it right.
